When it is slushy and cold and wet in Nova Scotia, or when things aren’t going quite as I had planned, this is where I would rather be. Where a day that begins with tears always ends with song and dance and smiles, and this. It is my heaven. I miss it everyday.

New Camera!

I went out today to research cameras, and ended up buying one (to all of the salespeople out there – I am the best kind of customer, the impulse buyer). I went in with my mind made up – I wanted a Canon Rebel XSi. The sales guy, Chad, convinced m to get Sony a200. We shall see if he was right. The bundle was irresistible – two lenses, a camera bag, and a memory card. It was such a great deal! Anyway, hopefully I will end up learning how to actually take good photos and get my money’s worth. I spent most of the day playing with it, and ended up with some decent shots.

The famous Moxie, my favourite cat in the whole world. This is the only one I got of her that wasn’t blurry. She hates me now.

Georgina is much easier to capture, because she doesn’t do anything.

I live in the woods, so there are lots of trees. I played with this one in photoshop a bit. It kind of looks like Forks, right?

I don’t know what it was that made this pattern on a fallen tree, but it fascinating to me.

Anyway, there will be many more photos to come as I get the hang of this.
